Nominate

There are eight different categories available for you to nominate in.  You can nominate as many as you like, one time only.

Click the information button on each category to see the criteria for that particular award and complete the form at the bottom of the page. If you want to nominate someone for more than one award this must be done separately. There is a 350 word limit on your reasons for nominating.

Nominations for 7 of our awards are open until Sunday 7th October. After that the SWiS guest panel will collate the results, and decide on the winner for each category.

For The UWS Sportswoman of the year, the panel will select their top four and the site will be re-open for a public vote.  You will be able to cast your vote for The UWS Sportswoman of the year, from Monday 15th October, through this website, once the shortlist has been finalised.  Voting on this will close on Monday 22nd October.

Criteria for MG Alba Youth Ambassador in Sport

The MG Alba Youth Ambassador award will be presented to someone who is 20 years of age or younger by December 31st 2018.  She must be part of a recognised programme and through her actions promote sport as well as motive and inspire other young people to be involved at any level within  sport.

 


Criteria for Frame Role Model of the Year 2018

This award will be awarded to an individual at any level within the community, school, or sport.

By their exemplary actions and attitudes they will have inspired and encouraged young girls to make positive life choices, sharing knowledge and experiences that provides support to young girls in order that that they can relate to them and are much more inclined to follow in the footsteps of this inspirational role model. 

 

 


Criteria for Official of the Year 2018

This award  recognises the hard work and dedication that referees, umpires and match officials make towards the playing and competition structure of their sport.

The Official of the Year award is presented to the official who, in the opinion of the judges, has worked consistently and fairly throughout the year.  The nominee must be a recognised, registered and accredited official of the sport for which they are being nominated.


Criteria for KubeNet Community Sports Champion 2018

The KubeNet Community Sport Champion Award will be presented to a club or individual who throught their tireless work within the community have supported and enabled young women and girls to participate in sport on a regular basis.  The winner/s must be affiliated to an accredited team or club. 


Criteria for Dentons Coach of the Year 2018

Dentons Coach of the Year award is presented to the individual who through imparting their expertise and knowledge has ensured success in their chosen sport.  This winner will display all the necessary traits required in a coach, and their application must demonstrate how their influence and dedication has ensured success in their chosen sport.


Criteria for Solheim Cup Team of the Year 2018

The Best Team Performance award is open to teams and clubs at all levels within sport and will recognise  achievements gained over the previous season. 

The application should reflect on how they have achieved excellent performance results.     The team or club must in membership of a recognised sporting organisation and  have achieved sporting excellence and encompass ‘good practice’ within their structure.


Criteria for sportscotland Young Sportswoman 2018

The sportscotland Young Sportswomen of the Year 2018 award is presented to the outstanding young athlete of 2018.  This female must have achieved success through continuous effort, learning and application in 2018 and must be 17 years of age or younger at 31st December 2018.


Criteria for UWS Sportswoman of the Year 2018

The UWS Sportswomen of the Year award is presented to the outstanding athlete of 2018 who has succeded in her particular sport, either as an individual or part of a team.  This female must have achieved excellence in her sport in 2018 and will have shown passion, committment, dedication, determination and resilience.


Criteria for SW/S Inspiration in Sport 2018

Our SW/S Inspiration in Sport award will recognise an individual who has overcome adversity, whether physical or mental, either by using sport to enable them to participate or continue to particpate in sport.
