There are ten different categories available for you to nominate in.  Please feel free to nominate in every category, if desired, but not for the same person. Only one nomination per person.

Click the information button on each category to see the criteria for that particular award and complete the form at the bottom of the page. If you want to nominate someone for more than one award this must be done separately. There is a 350 word limit on your reasons for nominating.

Nominations for our awards are open until Monday 7th October. After that the SW/S guest panel will collate the results, and decide on the finalists for each category.

Criteria for Specsavers Champion School 2019

Criteria for Specsavers Champion School of the Year 2019

This award is open to all schools who recognise and deliver a programme that understands female pupils and helps to encourage them to participate and enjoy physical activity and sport.

 


Criteria for Frame Innovation in Sport

This category is looking for the best and most innovative approaches to promotion or development of girls' and women's sport. It offers a wide scope for nominees from a social media campaign to an event that was innovative in its delivery or a project focussing on getting more girls and women active and through this raise the profile of women and girls in sport.

 

 


Criteria for MG Alba Role Model of the Year 2019

This award will be presented to an individual at any level within the community, school or sport, who by their exemplary actions and attitudes will have inspired and encouraged young girls to participate in sport.


Criteria for Official of the Year 2019

This award  recognises the hard work and dedication that referees, umpires and match officials contribute towards the playing and competition structure of their sport.

The Official of the Year award is presented to the official who, in the opinion of the judges, has worked consistently and fairly throughout the year.  The nominee must be a recognised, registered and accredited official of the sport for which they are being nominated.


Criteria for KubeNet Community Sports Champion 2019

The KubeNet Community Sport Champion Award will be presented to a club or individual who through their tireless work within the community have supported and enabled young women and girls to participate in sport on a regular basis.  The winner/s must be affiliated to an accredited team or club. 


Criteria for Burness Paul Coach of the Year 2019

The Coach of the Year award is presented to the individual who through imparting their expertise and knowledge has ensured success in their chosen sport.  This winner will display all the necessary traits required in a coach, and their application must demonstrate how their influence and dedication has ensured success in their chosen sport.


Criteria for Carryway Team of the Year 2019

The Team of The Year award is open to teams and clubs at all levels within sport and will recognise achievements gained over their previous season. 

The application should reflect on how they have achieved excellent performance results and the team or club must be in membership of a recognised sporting organisation and  have achieved sporting excellence during this period. 


Criteria for sportscotland Young Sportswoman 2019

The sportscotland Young Sportswomen of the Year 2019 award is presented to the outstanding young athlete of 2019.  This female must have achieved success through continuous effort, learning and application in 2019 and must be 17 years of age or younger at 31st December 2019.


Criteria for UWS Sportswoman of the Year 2019

The UWS Sportswomen of the Year award is presented to the outstanding athlete of 2019 who has succeded in her particular sport, either as an individual or part of a team.  This female must have achieved excellence in her sport in 2019 and will have shown passion, commitment, dedication, determination and resilience.


Criteria for SW/S Inspiration in Sport 2019

Our SW/S Inspiration in Sport award will recognise an individual who has either, overcome adversity, whether physical or mental, to enable them to participate in sport - Inspired and supported others to enable them to participate in their preferred sport or a 'male ally' who actively supports and promotes equality for girls and women
